Sister Kiwanis "Kitty" Hockett, associate pastor of Born Again Church, is a truly anointed woman of God and, as so many who have been touched by her life will attest, a committed and compassionate counselor, mentor and "spiritual mother." 

Married at 19 to Pastor Horace Hockett, together they founded Born Again Church in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1978, holding their first service in her parents’ living room. 

A hard worker, Sis.Kitty, as she is affectionately known, has served the ministry all of her life in various capacities, including administration, music ministry and women’s ministry. 

A Nashville native and the sixth of eight children, she has a heart for young people and enjoys ministering to the church's young men and women, who love and respect her enormously.

An anointed singer with a special love for music, she oversees the both FIHI Women's Ministry within the church and the 501c(3) for outreach and community service. 

A visionary in her own right, she started the women's ministry, Fashioned In His Image, Inc. (FIHI), in 1982 out of her desire to meet the needs of women within and outside of the church, by ministering to the whole woman, spirit, soul, and body. FIHI established offices and a full-time staff to better serve women and families and to bring its highly acclaimed programs to more communities. In 2027, the office will move to a new state-of-the art building at 888 W. Trinity Lane in the new Northview residential homes. 

An intercessor who seeks the heart of God in all she does, Sis. Kitty has a passion for excellence. A fervent believer in a life of holiness and truth, she has a way of getting right to the heart of a matter. However, the trait that she is most known for is her gentle and genuinely loving spirit. She loves people, and always looks for the good in them, striving to see them as God does. 

To relax, whenever she snatches a few moments from her hectic schedule, you will find her preparing exquisite meals and caring for her family in creative ways.

She and her husband are the parents of two sons, Horace II, Assistant Pastor (Sr. Elder LaTonya) and Brian, Senior Pastor (Sr. Elder Rachel) together leading the ministry as the next generation. 

She readily says, "I believe in supporting my husband, and in unity and teamwork within the Body of Christ." It is obvious that the Lord gave her this special gift as his support, help, wife, mother of his children, and co-laborer in the gospel.
